Lecturer

Mir Fazla Rabby is a lecturer of Journalism and Media Studies (JMS). He holds a master’s and a bachelor’s in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Dhaka. Before joining this position, he had worked at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), as a lecturer in Media and Mass Communication, till mid-April 2016. Fazla Rabby started his career as a research assistant in the Bangladesh Centre for Development, Journalism and Communication (BCDJC), a media research organization based in Dhaka, in early 2009. Later, he took up the position of a sub-editor at the Bangla daily Amader Shomoy. Finishing a one and half year stint there, he joined The Daily Star, an English newspaper, in June 2010, as a sub-editor. He had worked there till mid-September 2015. Fazla Rabby has published his thesis article entitled “Online news consumption pattern: A survey on Dhaka University students”. The areas of his interests include new media, development communication, international communication, and contemporary world affairs.
