Nowshin Jahan Etee
Nowshin Jahan Etee is a Lecturer in the Dept. of Journalism and Media Studies at Jahangirnagar University. She joined Jahangirnagar University in 2021. Before joining here, Nowshin was working as a Lecturer at Stamford University Bangladesh in 2018. She has also worked as a Program Executive on News24 Channel. Later she joined the State University of Bangladesh as a Teaching Assistant. Nowshin represented Bangladesh in the “Young Women Leadership Program” held in Istanbul and Ankara, Turkey. She has worked as an Assistant Director in the Short Film “The Unborn Letter” which won the first prize in Inter-University Short Film Competition.
Nowshin obtained BSS (Honors) and MSS Degree from Dhaka University at Mass Communication and Journalism Department. She secured First Class First Position in both the examinations. She received Sangbadik-Sahittik Kazi Mohammad Idris Memorial Gold Medal, Rashida Muhiuddin Memorial Gold Medal, and Dean’s Award for achieving the first position in her BSS examination. Furthermore, she received several scholarships for her excellent results in her BSS and MSS examinations including Professor Sitara Parvin Memorial Scholarship, NovearaDipita Memorial Scholarship, Tazin Memorial Scholarship, Professor Dr. Touhidul Anwar and Ali Haidar Memorial Scholarship, Tofazzal Hossain Manik Miah Memorial Scholarship, Habibullah Bahar Memorial Scholarship and Ruqayyah Memorial Foundation Scholarship.
Nowshin participated in different workshops and training like ‘A Candid Journey to Research Workshop & Panel Discussion’, ‘Training Workshop for Would-be Journalists on Children and Women Development Issues on the project of Advocacy’, ‘Communication and Awareness Building for Children and Women’, ‘Faculty Skill Development under IQAC’ and so on. She also worked as a Research Assistant in two researches. These are ‘Gender Violence Portrayal on Bangladeshi Media’ and ‘Identification of Behavioral Problems among Inmates of the Child Development Centers Exploring the Way-outs: A Psychological Study’.
