Welcome to the second issue of Journalism and Media Studies Journal, a yearly publication administered through the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, Jahangirnagar University. This blind-reviewed journal invites manuscript submissions on issues involving contemporary and emerging phenomena in the communication industry, particularly the news media sector. Our aim is to bring together the thoughts of communication and media scholars and present them to students, teachers and researchers. But the nature of this journal is interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary. We encourage integration across disciplines and give attention to how a multidisciplinary approach can contribute to new ways of thinking. While our focus is communication studies, this platform always welcomes ideas from other social science disciplines. With that in mind, the editorial committee invited this year research articles, review articles, and case studies and received a number of submissions from home and abroad. After careful selection and thorough reviews, five articles have made entry into this issue.The write-ups delve into diversified areas including journalism, media and gender.
